Separate Schools Next Week

Well, the last post overflowed with comments, so I might as well get us going on the post for the new book even though it won't be available yet for a few days.

It's called Separate Schools, and you can expect it to be along the lines of the Maggie series. Different dynamics of course because these are quite different people, but their relationships are going to become convoluted.

We've got high school sweethearts and best buds Taylor and Harrison. They've only been with each other. Next week they're heading to separate schools for the first time ever, thousands of miles apart, but they're going to work through this.

It's the last party of the summer, and it's hosted at Taylor's family's lake side second home in north Michigan. Fun will be had, and revelations made ...

  1. Great now I have that terrible Kid Rock song stuck in my head ...

    3. Please tell me there are better songs that we will be treated to within these pages!

Anyone think we'll run into Max?

Also, this takes place in Michigan so I expect the following (as this is my former stomping grounds):

Faygo (and its pop, not soda)
Coney dogs (koegel hot dogs of course)
      pasties mmhmm

I'll openly revolt if none of these are referenced.

    5. DnD here. Vernors. Northern Michigan is actually quite beautiful. Y'all should check it out. No tainted water; that stuff was in Flint. Coney--an over-priced chili dog by any other name (I miss going to the Vienna Inn).

Strut (about the only Bob Seger song I like)

    6. My heart bleeds for Flint. It's dangerous to assume that all of Michigan is safe however and to think that lead can't spread to other water supplies in the state.

      Delete
    7. DnD, again.

Not to belabor the point: Lead in Flint's water was caused by improperly treated water that caused lead in way too old pipes to be consumed. It was horrible and was the City of Flint's fault. We have well water. It is tested quarterly. We do not live in Flint.

That said, I do like "Wax Ecstatic" by Sponge. :)

      Delete
    8. No it was the governor of Michigan's fault although it does seem that a lot of people are misinformed about this due to partisanship and willful ignorance. Really all I had to google to verify this and the only ones that blame the city alone are suspect sources of information.

    9. Yeah dont get me started on 'Emergency Managers ...'

    10. @DnD are you talking a Detroit Style coney as overpriced chili dogs or Flint coneys? Flint coneys are the way to go!

      Shout out to Vernor's

      Delete
    11. DnD, yet again,

The problem with lead in the water in Flint started long before the city went into Emergency Management. Pipes were long past due replacement but the city did not have the money when factories closed and the State was not approached properly to provide assistance. But the pipes were long past due for replacement before the factories closed.

We live about 20 miles from Flint in the sticks. Local media covered this way better than national media convered it. If all you have is national media, it is understandable, but not entirely correct.

Both. When I was a kid and we lived in Reston, VA my Dad took me to get chili dogs at the Vienna Inn. If memory serves, they were a quarter. :) I didn't see prices on the menu for VI when looked today. I could be wrong, but the impressions of a kid often endure. I don't like the hotdogs they use anyway. Besides, you can go to Costco and get a better hotdog and a drink for far less than a Coney anywhere. :)

  5. Heres a song for you guys and for Harrison and Taylor or......
Lyrics only, go youtube bob seger if you like...

    was a little too tall
    Could've used a few pounds
    Tight pants points hardly renown
She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
    Way up firm and high
Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy
Workin' on mysteries without any clues
    Workin' on our night moves
Trying' to make some front page drive-in news
Workin' on our night moves in the summertime
    In the sweet summertime

We weren't in love oh no far from it
We weren't searching for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
    Living by the sword
And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, the alley, the trusty woods
I used her she used me
    But neither one cared
    We were getting our share

    2. Some of these novels of KT Morrison feel less erotic... Losing His Wife was just way too sad and tragic to the point that it destroyed it. Cherry Blossoms was better but I grew to hate how the wife was going for this total psychopath. At least that one had a happier ending than the first one though... relatively speaking.

      Delete
    3. Meh, some people get turned off by the concept of wifesharing in general, some others don't like some of the cuckold elements that John, Lancer, and you pointed out in the reza series.

For me KT's novels are highly erotic because I enjoy the challenge. Everyone of these stories tests monogamy and relationship rules, trust, emotions, and human behavior and will. In that sense I have been turned on in every KT story, but no question, mixed in are things that dont do it for me. To me KT is the best complete package there is out and gets me better than any other author out there.

To be honest, I'm not convinced that happiness is the only thing that can be a source of eroticism. That's probably unhealthy, but I think it's just more human.

      Delete
    4. Everything you said is very true... KT's indeed challenge the relationships in every way. I like the cuckold elements but also have my cutoff point. I like wife sharing, wife swapping isn't my thing as much.

I guess Cherry Blossoms had so much excitement and eroticism. Later however I felt things were less erotic and more to close a story which was just fine and enjoyable for what its worth.

      Delete
    5. @2b2h.
That was well said I also find All KT's stories at a minimum very entertaining. It helps that her writing is easy to read with out errors and typos that normally ruin a hot story for me.
If a story has a happy ending or not doesnt really matter to me because I'm stuck in the reality that not all endings need to be sweet reconciliation or burn the bitch/bastard endings just that the conclusion comes narurally.

      Delete
    6. Honestly endings are probably my least favorite part of a story/novel.

      Delete
  6. SO I was thinking is this going to be more of a long distance relationship girlfriend/boyfriend thing that I'm unsure how this will be that erotic. Even close relationship rarely ever work in the long distance fashion. Somehow I think KT will find a way though!

    4. Yes, 400 or so, not sure how Amazon calculates that. Sequels will depend on you guys!

    5. Well I read a lot of different stuff from Robert Jordan to George R.R. Martin that go for nearly a thousand pages plus at times. Rare to read it in erotica though. Can't wait!

    10. Why is it that I always feel horrible for the husbands but at the same time I would rather be Jonny or Max than the 'bull' who ever it is including Reza?

      Delete
    11. That’s interesting about not really considering it erotica... because I find some parts in the Maggie series pretty hot. What’s your distinction between the two categories? Are there any books you’ve written that you consider erotica?

      Delete
    12. Well, it's erotica, but it isn't erotica, too. Erotica on Amazon is fractured. Some books that my compatriots and I write are real books with graphic sex, yet they're treated with unfeeling disdain by server algorithms that think all erotica is equal. Three hundred thousand words of Cherry Blossoms is the same as the seven-thousand word Five Frat Brothers Fuck My Sister's Face Hole. A book I would respect and read, don't get me wrong, but some of the things I write shouldn't be swept aside by computers and hidden from all but those most hungrily searching.

Reza is erotica. Measured is erotica. SCB is erotica. I do write flat out erotica. But some of it is broader ...

      Delete
    13. I should also add: some of my books are more about the human relationship revolving around the sex rather than the sex itself. Erotica is about the sex.

      Delete
    14. I think that is why I like your books so much

    17. LOLing at ToBe=ToHave's comment above. So true!

So, 400 pages? Does that mean simultaneous paperback publication? Those help tide me over while I wait for eventual print collections of shorter "chapter" series like Reza and Happy Endings.

    18. I like the romance
..the deeper it is the higher the angst when she starts misbehaving. For example the loving romanitic nights watching twilight zone..very personal together times..something only the two primaries could ever enjoy doing together. Gives you that warm and fuzzy cuddly feeling..then comes the fall not a sudden drop but a trip a slip a dip and tumble then another fall dropping a little furthur...much like flying and just hitting the edges of some turbulent air but you keep going knowing the turbulence will only get worse but hoping it will be over soon then comes that sudden drop from 30k to 20k. Your heart is somewhere in the overhead bin. And all you wanna do is put it back in its proper place.

    2. Great review of a great book, Parker. Cherry Blossoms is indeed amazeballs, and you accurately describe a lot of what makes it so singularly effective and memorable.

And like you, I've fantasized about a world where erotic works like KT's would receive A-list film adaptations (or maybe HBO miniseries -- hard to see how you'd effectively prune something like CB down to two hours). It's criminal that the only erotic fiction to break through to mainstream bestsellerdom and big-budget Hollywood production in recent memory is the pseudoliterate fanfic of the Fifty Shades series. KT deserves it so much more.

    3. Concur with that anon. I dont think the world could handle a KT movie...
Just imagine all of us sitting in a theater.. than again it could be the next gen of "rocky horror picture show"
Reza, Rocky or Tyler become "asshole"
Nia, Charlie or Jess become "slut ,whore or bitch"
Bring cock cages, panties and long dong silver replicas to throw at the screen. Dress up as ypur favorite charactor..
The biker tyler the construction worker rocky, the mysterious property owner reza. I'd go as dino...maybe Geoff. Of theres the girls too ...hmm KT who would you dress up as ??

    4. The last book of Cherry Blossoms was kind of disheartening when she was with that Roco prick. I could of sworn she would have ended up at least with his brother when her husband broke away.

As for film... I don't really know because unfortunately it turns into something disappointing due to budget issues, etc.

    6. "Nia, Charlie or Jess become 'slut ,whore or bitch'"

I would never call or think of any of KT's heroines by such names. My sympathies are always completely with the women in cuckold/hotwife stories. Whatever they need to do to scratch their itches, I fully support.

      Delete
    7. ahh I think John C wasn't saying they were that exactly, just that it brings the worse in people in KT's worlds and many times they find themselves getting out of this.

My sympathies fall on both many times. It does seem to depend really as they both put themselves in this situation if that makes any sense.

      Delete
    8. Oh, I know John C was just funnin' with his comment (and it was clever). I just took the opportunity to offer my own skewed perspective.

  14. Well I'm really loving it thus far. I read kind of fast sometimes, but am trying to take my time. I sort of feel for Harrison already and get the distinct impression that he's going to get screwed figuratively. Bitter sweet endings are all fine as that reflects reality especially when it comes to high school sweetheart relationships distance is often the killer of them as well.

    Well back to reading!
